Dot Net development with VFP backend from a VFP developer's perspective
|Presented By:||Don Rapp|
|Summary||Although no expert in .Net, I will show how how to query data doing what VFP developers see as standard SQL statements via OleDBProvider, handling parameters to prevent SQL injection attacks
I'll also get into some samples on binding the data to grids, handle formatting and paging. How to customize the look / content of a grid instead of a simple single column/field per row including adding images and such. How does .Net handle postback events from objects.
This will all be done with C#.Net 2.0 and standard VFP OleDBProvider. I'll also show how to implement a multi-threaded VFP .DLL COM server for some more complex calls back to VFP for processing that is otherwise limited through the OleDBProvider.
